Job summary

Starbucks Barista position at SpartanNash – Grand Rapids, MI. This role prepares coffee shop beverages and food, operates the cash register, processes payments, and delivers courteous customer service.

You will stock items, maintain a clean department, follow safety, PPE, and food safety guidelines, and assist with store programs and promotions. Part-time schedule with prior retail or barista experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee shop beverages; brew, mix and/or blend beverages according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
• Stock items and rotate Coffee items and merchandise displays.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Notify the department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures.
• Communicate store programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers, and model high standards of service.
