First Midwest Bank is seeking a part-time Universal Banker in Springfield, MO to support teller and customer service duties at the branch. The role combines cash handling with advisory support, helping customers choose financial products and process transactions.

Time is split between teller tasks and customer service, focusing on relationship building, policy compliance, and accuracy. Prior teller experience and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year teller experience preferred; College degree or relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute for teller/banking experience.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed goals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Solid problem solving and decision making ability.
• Skilled at learning on the fly.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a trained teller, accurately process deposits/withdrawals for consumer and business clients.
• Cashes checks, processes savings withdrawals and cash advances.
• Issues official checks, gift cards, debit cards, and other instruments.
• Performs other branch operations and service-related work as determined by management.
• Assists in opening and closing the branch and vault daily; balances ATM and process deposits.
• Maintains knowledge of security and safety policies and adheres to internal controls.
• Proactively advises consumer and business clients in their selection of accounts, loans and other products.
