Job summary

Diocese of Saint Petersburg is seeking a Part-Time Band Teacher for St. Patrick Catholic School in Largo, Florida. The ideal candidate will provide band instruction, prepare students for performances, and support the music for school liturgical celebrations.

This flexible role provides an opportunity to work within a faith-filled community dedicated to academic and personal student growth, with small class sizes and engaged families.

Successful candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Music Education and teaching experience, along with a commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in music education or a related field is required.
• Experience with teaching elementary or middle school students is preferred.
• Must have experience in directing bands or instrumental ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Provide band instruction to students in grade 5 and possibly middle school.
• Prepare students for concerts and special performances.
• Support music for weekly school Masses and liturgical celebrations.

Skills

Teaching experience with elementary or middle school students

Experience directing instrumental ensembles

Strong organizational and communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field
