Job summary

Westborn Market in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Bakery Associate to help customers in the bakery department and deliver strong service. You’ll need solid product knowledge and the ability to assist with purchases, maintain clean work areas, and follow recipes.

Essential duties include baking items on schedule, preparing pastries, stocking merchandise, and pricing products while providing friendly service to guests.

Qualifications

• Proper phone etiquette while taking orders or messages.
• Ability to write legible and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position.

Responsibilities

• Bakes off pastry case items such as muffins, croissants, scones etc according to set times.
• Makes a variety of parfaits, dips, and other bakery specific items while following written recipes.
• Is comfortable using commercial baking equipment such as ovens, knives, bread slicers, etc.
• Stocks and rotates bakery merchandise as directed.
• Prepares, packages, and prices product as directed.
• Assists customers with orders placed.
• Maintains clean and organized work area free of hazards in accordance with food safety best practice.
• Provides exceptional customer service.
• Keeps a positive and helpful attitude during length of shift.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Description

This position will require assisting customers with selecting and purchasing items in the bakery department while also delivering great customer service. In this position, a high level of product knowledge will be required.
