Job summary

Mankato Motors is seeking a part-time Parts Counterperson to join our team in Mankato, MN. The role involves supporting both the parts and service sides of the business, handling sales, quotes, and orders with customers in a friendly, professional manner.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8-1 and two Saturdays a month from 8-12. Wage depends on experience, with opportunities for training and growth within the dealership group.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with auto parts sales is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with customer on parts status.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
• Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull and fill orders from stock.
• Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
