Job summary

California State University, Dominguez Hills invites applications for a pool of part-time teaching appointments in the Audio Engineering program within the Digital Media Arts Department.

These temporary positions require candidates with relevant degrees and experience, and a commitment to teaching a diverse student population, including first-generation college students, with appropriate office hours and assessment responsibilities. Availability for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Audio, Sound Design, Music Technology, or Media Arts.
• Experience teaching adult learners from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
• Available to begin teaching on short notice based on student enrollment and funding.
• Preferred: prior college/university teaching experience with strong teaching record.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or MFA in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
• Preferred: experience teaching online.

Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse student population with one hour of required office hours each week for every three credit units of course teaching assignment.
