The University of New Mexico Valencia Campus seeks temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000-2000 level Astronomy courses. This will be a continuous recruitment starting in Spring 2026 semester, with openings announced as needed for each term.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Astronomy or Physics (or related field with 18 graduate credits) and post-secondary teaching experience. Preferred candidates may hold a PhD/ABD/EdD and have online teaching training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Astronomy or Physics or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Astronomy or Physics.
• Experience teaching at a post-secondary institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach 1000-2000 level Astronomy courses at UNM Valencia.
• Serve as part-time adjunct instructor for eligible semesters as needed.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural understanding and student success in the community.
