Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled part‑time Associate Veterinarian to join our team at Burbank Pet Hospital in San Jose, California. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care, communicate effectively with clients, and collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. The position works under the guidance of the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

Burbank Pet Hospital is well equipped with a full in‑house laboratory, digital X‑ray, dental X‑ray, ultrasound, and a dedicated dental suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
  • Communicate with and educate clients.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations.
  • Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible.
  • Participate in practice management updates and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
  • Current State Veterinary License.
  • DEA registration.
  • At least one year of experience in a veterinary practice.
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and dental skills.

Pay Range
