Job summary

Alphabet Academy in Philadelphia is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant to support teachers and families, providing a safe, nurturing home-away-from-home for children from 6 weeks to 12 years, following NAEYC guidelines.

You will assist with in-class instruction, decorate classrooms, maintain a warm environment, engage children in activities, and communicate with parents about their child. No evenings or weekends. Competitive pay and benefits including childcare discount.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized within operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks – 12 years.
• Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
