Job summary

The TEA Center in McLean, VA is looking for an Assistant Teacher to join our family-friendly childcare team. You will work with a Lead Teacher to create a safe, joyful classroom where children learn through play and exploration, supporting routines and hands-on activities.

No teaching experience is required—the right person will be trained. The role offers flexible hours (2 days/week minimum; 7:00 AM–6:30 PM) with opportunities for growth and education assistance as part of our scholarship

Qualifications

• Experience in early childhood education is not required; training will be provided.
• Must be reliable, caring, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow lead teacher guidance and classroom routines.
• Availability to work 2 days/week minimum; 7:00 AM–6:30 PM schedule flexibility is a plus.

About the Role

As a Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside an experienced Lead Teacher to help create a safe, engaging, and joyful classroom environment. You’ll support daily routines, learning activities, and hands‑on experiences that help children grow, explore, and thrive.

Position Details

• $13–$17 per hour
• Minimum 2 days/week required
• 5-day availability preferred
• Consistent availability between 7:00 AM–6:30 PM
• Minimum 1-year commitment preferred
