PennWest is seeking an assistant swim coach to support the Head Swim Coach in directing the program. The role focuses on creating a positive environment, developing student-athletes academically and athletically, and ensuring adherence to NCAA and institutional rules.
The successful candidate will assist with training schedules, team instruction, recruitment, fundraising, and public relations, while maintaining professional conduct on and off the field.
The assistant coach, in collaboration with the Head Swim Coach assists in the direction and administration of the program in a manner that reflects the athletics’ department program goals. This individual reports directly to the Head Women’s Swim Coach and is responsible for creating an environment that is supportive of individual differences and maximizes the educational and athletic development of the student athletes.
Assist in event administration of home athletic contests and high school athletic contests as needed by athletic administration. This may include but are not limited to team bench set up, field preparation, greet visiting team and officials, provide water for officials, direct student work force and act as game day administrator for events.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
The candidate should have strong communication skills
1 year of coaching swim program at the club, high school or collegiate level.
Experience in developing women’s swim athletes.
Must have the ability to successfully demonstrate different aspects of swimming technique.
