Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Develops and implements a sound and effective Men's Volleyball philosophy.
• Participates in the identification, evaluation and recruitment of potential men's volleyball student-athletes.
• Prepares scouting reports and game plans.
• Analyzes opponents and Loras personnel on film.
• Directs and coordinates assistant coaches, practice schedules and meetings.
• Monitors student-athletes in classroom and on the field.
• Monitors the academic progress of assigned men's volleyball student-athletes in the program.
• Coordinates the physical development of each student-athlete through conditioning sessions.
• Assists in the recruitment, employment and evaluation of assistant men's volleyball coaches.
• Represents the College to alumni, media and the public to promote the program.
• Advises and counsels student-athletes academically, athletically and socially.
• May assist in designing equipment purchases and fundraising.
• May represent the College at CCIW meetings.

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs volleyball coaching and management activities, including recruitment of student-athletes in a National Collegiate Athletic Association--Division III intercollegiate Men's Volleyball program.

• May recommend the purchase of new volleyball equipment, supplies and uniforms.
• May represent the College at CCIW meetings.

• Assists in designing, implementing and supervising strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes in all varsity/recreation programs of the College.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.

Experience: One or more years of related experience (playing, coaching, manager, etc.).

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Other Requirements: Skilled in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of collegiate men's volleyball. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association--Division III and the Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) as they pertain to collegiate men's volleyball preferred. Coaching and playing experience at the collegiate level preferred. Demonstrated success in coaching volleyball and recruiting quality student-athletes. Also, must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the techniques, fundamentals and drills associated with volleyball. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superior, colleagues, student-athletes and subordinates. Ability to analyze strengths and weaknesses of the men's volleyball program and develop problem-solving solutions. Possess high energy level, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to represent the philosophy of Loras College to alumni, members of the Loras community, the media and prospective students.
