Job summary

Big Bend Community College (BBCC) invites applications for part-time Assistant Coach positions across volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, and softball. You will assist the Head Coach in developing student-athletes in line with NWAC standards and BBCC values.

This is a part-time, seasonal role from September through June, offering a stipend of up to $4,000, pro-rated by start date. Campus employment may be available based on qualifications and interest.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience as a player or coach in chosen sport (volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, and softball).
• Current First Aid/CPR certification (or will obtain if selected).
• Valid unrestricted Washington State driver's license.
• Experience working within a diverse environment, inclusive of individuals of varying social, ability, economic, cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Coach student‑athletes under Head Coach guidance and develop training sessions and techniques.
• Teach individual skills, build teamwork, enforce training rules.
• Maintain athletic facilities used by the program.
• Supervise student‑athletes on trips and during practices and games.
• Monitor academic performance and leadership to retain athletes.
• Scout and recruit student‑athletes who are qualified academically and athletically.
