Part-Time Art Instructor (Pool)
The successful candidate will possess professional-level expertise in both traditional and digital art practices, with a strong emphasis on illustration and graphics workflows. Proficiency is required in a wide range of traditional media (drawing, painting, ink, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, mixed‑media) as well as industry‑standard digital tools, primarily Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Animate. Additional expertise in iPad‑based digital painting and illustration using Procreate, Apple Pencil and related brush engines is essential. Candidates should be comfortable teaching concept development, observational drawing, color theory, composition, character design, story‑boarding, digital painting techniques, vector illustration and basic frame‑by‑frame animation. The ability to guide students from traditional foundational skills through professional digital production methods, fostering creative problem‑solving and contemporary industry awareness, is critical.

‘Master’s in fine arts’ refers to any master’s degree in the subject matter of fine arts, including visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to “Master of Fine Arts” degrees based on performing arts or other non‑plastic arts.
Salary is based on a percentage of workload, up to 67% of a full‑time load. Initial hiring salary range is $38,464 – $55,582 per semester, prorated, and based on academic achievement, teaching, and related experience.
