Job summary

Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District seeks a Pool Manager to oversee daily pool operations, supervise lifeguards and instructors, and ensure safety and high-quality customer service.

The role includes scheduling, training, and coordinating programs such as swim lessons; responsibilities include opening/closing, weekend shifts, and using Amilia CRM for registrations. This position requires 18+ and ARC certifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1,500 hours of aquatic leadership & lifeguarding experience.
  • Ability to swim 200 yards in under four minutes.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies using ARC lifeguard techniques with rescues in under 90 seconds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
  • Basic math skills: add/subtract/multiply/divide.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee aquatics staff and enforce responsibilities, training, and procedures.
  • Assist Recreation Coordinator with seasonal recruitment, hiring, and training of all aquatics staff.
  • Provide leadership and follow Emergency Action Plan when activated.
  • Maintain public relations with participants and/or parents/guardians; ensure customer service.
  • Open, close, and arrange weekend shifts; manage pool usage and transitions.
  • Use Amilia CRM to create accounts, register participants, modify classes, process refunds, print rosters, and record attendance.
  • Report to supervisor on personnel, program, and maintenance status; document incidents.
  • Assist with lane line setup/teardown and pool maintenance as needed.
  • Assist Recreation Manager with annual employee evaluations.
