Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory operates the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Phoenix. We are seeking a part-time aquatic staff member with lifeguard responsibilities to oversee programs and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Possession of current StarGuard, First Aid, CPR Pro, and Lifeguard Training certificates.
• Must have StarGuard Swim Instructor certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance (300-yard swim in under 10 minutes).
• Ability to work with the public and handle safety-critical situations.
• Must pass health, safety regulations and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to day-to-day aquatics operations with the Aquatics Manager during the off season.
• Monitor and assist program participants; ensure safety and service excellence.
• Enforce pool rules for safety and convenience of members.
• Perform rescues and administer CPR, AED, and first aid as needed.
• Maintain equipment and communicate with staff and participants.
• Attend staff and management meetings as directed by the Aquatics Manager.
• Ensure proper maintenance and usage of aquatics facilities.
