Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEYS INC is seeking a part-time apparel sorter to support donation processing and store operations. Under supervision, you will categorize apparel into salable or salvage, ensure quality standards, and assist with pricing, tagging, and merchandising.

You will help maintain a clean sorting area, strive for donor and customer satisfaction, and contribute to a high-functioning team. This on-site role offers the chance to grow within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Ability to work within a team situation.
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude.
• Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensures donor and customer delight and provides world class service.
• Sort apparel and soft line goods into salable or salvage categories.
• Check for tears, stains, wetness, smells, soiling, broken zippers, and missing buttons.
• Meet sort counts as required.
• Maintain neat and clean sorting/processing area.
• Identify value of items and assist with pricing and tagging as needed.
• Assist with floor rotation and occasional transportation of apparel.
