Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Environmental Education, or related field preferred, but not necessary.
• At least one year of experience in animal husbandry, handling and training in a professional setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for animals, prepares diets, feeds and cleans habitats.
• Perform daily observations of animals to identify normal and abnormal health or behavior.
• Assist with medical/health issues and administer medication as directed.
• Provides behavioral and psychological enrichment for animals.
• Communicate with visitors for educational programs and safety.
• Maintain tools, equipment and facilities for safe use and operation.
• Assist with training for new keepers or interns as assigned.
• Document observations and information for department records.
