Job summary

Goddard Riverside Community Center is seeking a Program Aide for the Beacon community center after-school program. The role involves office support, data entry, and supervision of youth in a NYC public-school setting.

This position runs weekdays after school, with occasional evenings, and focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment for youth. You will collaborate with the Office Manager, Coordinators, and the Director, performing tasks from attendance to program support, while promoting

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to work between 9am and 5pm, Monday-Friday for training sessions.
• Must have ability to work collaboratively.
• Must have a sense of humor and a passion for youth development.
• Have energy, motivation and skills needed to work independently.
• Comfortable engaging youth.
• Experience or interest in Education/Social Work a plus.
• Must be able to pass background check including Fingerprint Screening.
• CPR/First Aid Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Office Tasks (Manage attendance records, Data Entry, Typing, Copying, Manage Program/Office Supplies)
• Maintenance Tasks (Light, Sweeping, mopping, dusting, general cleaning)
• Support all areas of the After School Program
• Escort participants to activities off site.
• Enforce program rules
• Know and enforce ALL emergency procedures and follow all safety guidelines associated with all program areas
• Foster a learning environment that stimulates children’s creative growth and development
• Attend staff training, weekly meetings and supervision meetings
• Other duties as required and assigned by Program Director and AVP.
• Demonstrate professionalism & leadership
