Job summary

City of Evanston is seeking an After School Instructor for the Robert Crown Center. This part-time, seasonal role focuses on leading activities after school and supporting academic help for participants in a safe, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Coordinator and Lead Instructor, adhering to program policies, and ensuring positive experiences for children during after-school sessions at the Robert Crown Community Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 yrs.
• Maturity and judgment in working with children
• Knowledge and experience in program-related activities preferred
• Ability to work as a team with instructors and staff
• Responsible, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and willing to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement games, sports, arts & crafts, recreational activities and academic support for participants in a group setting.
• Ensure safety of participants during the program and field trips; report accidents/incidents to the Program Coordinator.
• Communicate concerns to the Program Coordinator and work with staff to coordinate activities.
• Follow daily/weekly schedules and assist with discipline and emergency procedures.
• Provide public relations and customer service to parents/guardians to create a positive impression of the program.
