The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago seeks a part-time guitar instructor for its adult guitar program. You will teach group classes across skill levels, develop lesson plans, and incorporate music theory, ear training, and improvisation.

Qualifications

• Strong musicianship with ability to teach acoustic/electric guitar.
• Proficiency in staff notation, lead sheets, tablature and chord charts.
• Broad knowledge of guitar pedagogy, technique, repertoire and music theory.

Responsibilities

• Teach group classes across multiple skill levels from beginner to advanced.
• Develop lesson plans and adapt teaching methods for diverse learners.
• Incorporate music theory, ear training, and improvisation into instruction.
• Engage students in school traditions and performances.
