Job Description

Membership to the Fitchburg State University part time adjunctfaculty pool is open to qualified and competent experts, externalto the Fitchburg State University faculty, who possess skills,education, and experience in academic and/or professionalareas.

All part time faculty are responsible for providing our studentswith a high quality learning environment, while utilizing theirfocused expertise and experience in their individual classroom,laboratories and studios.

The Department of Humanities at Fitchburg State University invitesapplications for an Adjunct in Studio Art. Specific opportunitieswill vary based on student demand and department curricular needs,however we most frequently have openings to teach foundationcourses, such as Drawing or other beginning-level 2-D and 3-Dstudio courses.

Additional Information

Fitchburg State University has created an "Open Pool" vacancyannouncement for part time day and evening adjunct faculty bydiscipline. The faculty chair and the divisional dean/associatevice president will review applications submitted when there is aspecific need for part time adjunct to fill a course scheduled inthe academic year for both the day and/or evening classes.

The application process will require that applicants designatetheir preference for teaching in the day, evening or both. Pleaseattach a letter of interest and resume when applying for any parttime teaching position.

Applications submitted will be maintained from July 1st throughJune 30th for each academic year. At the conclusion of the academicyear the pool will be refreshed and applicants will be required toreapply. Applications selected to be maintained in the pool willremain active for a three year period.
