Job summary

Northampton Community College is seeking an Academic Coach for the Learning Center in Bethlehem or online. The part-time role involves one-on-one coaching to help students succeed through acclimation, goal setting, and skill development. Coaches may run workshops and collaborate with faculty, with ongoing CRLA certification opportunities.

Responsibilities include supporting student learning, time management, and study strategies. A bachelor’s degree is required, and master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred).
• Experience in academic coaching, advising, tutoring, teaching, counseling or related student support roles.
• Knowledge of challenges faced by community college students and strengths‑based advising.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine desire to help students learn, succeed and reach goals.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students one-on-one to support success in college.
• Help with acclimation to college environment and expectations.
• Assist with goal setting, academic skills, study strategies, time management.
• Facilitate group workshops and collaborate with faculty and staff.
• Engage in CRLA certification and ongoing training opportunities.
