Job summary

Youth Service Bureau in Indiana is seeking a part-time 3rd shift Youth Care Worker. The role works in a residential setting with youths aged 10-19, with a starting wage of $14 per hour and irregular hours, including holidays as needed.

Typical schedule is Thursday–Saturday, 11:00 pm–8:00 am; some shifts offer differentials: $1/hr for 4pm–10pm, and $0.50/hr for 11pm–8am. Must be at least 21, have a valid driver’s license, and be insurable.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and be insurable.
• Prefer a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human service field; will accept HS/GED.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general supervision of residents at all times to ensure a cohesive environment.
• Assist residents in coping with out-of-home placement.
• Prepare meals and snacks for residents.
• Coordinate menu planning and dietary needs with Purchasing Agent.
• Ensure proper storage of all food and supplies.
• Complete weekly inventory of supplies and food items.
• Complete inventory worksheets and weekly grocery list submission.
• Bed checks on each resident every 15 minutes during shift.
• Supervise and instruct residents in basic living skills.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment programs as directed by therapist.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, medication records, and incident reports.
