Job summary

Ryerson Holding Corporation is seeking a Part Handler at our United States facility. This on-site role focuses on staging, packing, and picking material for shipments, using appropriate equipment and completing SAP-based paperwork.

Qualified candidates will undergo a skills-based assessment and may enroll in a registered apprenticeship during onboarding. Prior experience is helpful, and basic math/computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Completing paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximizing productivity for finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned or changed.

As a Service Center Operator C (SCOC) at Ryerson, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 1yearof similar job experience preferred
