Job summary

The Legal Aid Society in New York seeks a Paralegal I for the Parole Revocation Defense Unit in the Bronx. You will join a team representing clients in parole revocation and recognizance hearings across NYC.

Responsibilities include case data entry, document management, calendar updates, and preparation of court filings. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or two years of experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma or GED or two years of work experience.
• Proficiency in word processing and computing tools; strong communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update case data in case management systems and SharePoint.
• Messenger assignments and receptionist duties; answer phones and route calls.
• Handle documents: copy, fax, scan, collate, batch; maintain files and archives.
• Prepare and deliver court filings; update court calendars and reports.
• Provide information to clients, families, vendors and staff; organize supplies.
