Job summary

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 014 DeFuniak P and P.

The purpose of this position is to ensure accurate intake, processing, and tracking of offenders on community supervision by managing their records, coordinating their activities, and maintaining security and quality standards within the department’s information systems.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES
  • Manages the intake and processing of offenders, including entering their information and sentencing details into the Offender Based Information System (OBIS).
  • Reviews, interprets, and enters sentencing documents and monetary obligations into relevant databases, using specialized tools and manuals as needed.
  • Verifies offender data, coordinates orientation programs, and requests criminal records to ensure accurate and complete records.
  • Oversees offender community service work, monitors job assignments, and photographs offenders for the department’s website, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Maintains security procedures, conducts quality assurance audits, and assists with interstate transfers and monitoring offenders with out-of-state detainers.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
