Job summary

The City of Monon is seeking a weekend Park Attendant to assist with maintenance of the city’s parks and park facilities. The position runs September and October, with hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Duties include directing patrons, opening/closing facilities, litter pickup, cleaning restrooms and shelters, assisting with events, inspecting areas, and performing minor repairs and upkeep.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalency is desired.
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license upon application and maintain such during entire course of employment.

Job description

Under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Parks Weekend Attendant performs functions necessary for the weekend maintenance of the City's parks and park facilities.

This is a seasonal position in September and October. Hours are weekends only, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00–11:00 a.m.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned.

Minimum Physical Abilities:

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to remove full bags out of trash cans and transport them short distances for disposal
• Ability to wipe, scrub, sweep, and mop, to clean surfaces
• Ability to inspect and recognize areas of dirt and messes which need cleaning and broken or unsafe equipment which could be hazardous to users
• Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions
