Job summary

Lehi City is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker I/II to perform landscape maintenance for city parks, park strips, and associated facilities. The role focuses on weed control, basic irrigation maintenance, and keeping parks and restrooms clean and safe.

Graduation from high school or equivalent with two years of progressively responsible maintenance experience is required, plus a Utah pesticide license within six months. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, plus two years of related maintenance experience.
• Valid Utah Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of turf management, weed control, herbicides, and sprinkler systems.
• Ability to operate or learn equipment such as backhoe, mower, tractor, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance for parks and park strips, including upkeep of facilities and grounds.
• Focus on weed control, irrigation maintenance, and keeping parks and restrooms clean and safe.
• Assist with landscape construction tasks and general maintenance as needed.
• Demonstrate stewardship and professional attitude serving Lehi City residents.

JOB SUMMARY

The main responsibilities of this position will be to perform landscape maintenance for parks, park strips, and various other areas owned and maintained by Lehi City.

• Performs a variety of working level skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of recreation facilities, parks, grounds and general environments.
• The primary responsibilities of this job are weed control, basic irrigation maintenance, and keeping your assigned parks and restrooms clean and safe.
• Secondary responsibilities include a wide variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance and construction
• The successful candidate will act and serve on behalf of the citizens of Lehi City in offering stewardship in Lehi City Parks and related areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of turf, parks, facilities and related environs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Valid Utah Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License required within 6 months of hire date.
• Other certifications may be required.
• Some knowledge of equipment such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, mowers, tractor, power over-seeders, aerators, thatcher, welders, trimmers, etc.
• Landscape and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Hazards and related safety precautions associated with equipment operations.
• Knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and pesticides, and proper application of the same.
• Knowledge of turf management.
• Knowledge of weed control.
• Interpersonal communication skills.
