Job summary

City of Mount Vernon is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to care for park areas and supervise public activities. The role involves outdoor work, operating tools and equipment, and assisting with baseball/softball field prep. Valid WA driver’s license required; weekend/evening/holiday hours possible.

You will perform building and grounds maintenance, set up City events, submit incident reports, and work with Parks staff to ensure safety and courteous public interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and pass background check.
• Valid Washington driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain park buildings and grounds daily (litter, landscaping, cleaning).
• Set up City-sponsored events as needed.
• Complete incident report forms promptly after any situation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
