Job summary

Town of Leesburg is seeking a dedicated parks and grounds maintenance worker to preserve the quality and beauty of the town’s parks and open spaces. You will maintain athletic fields, trails, landscape beds, playgrounds, and public lands, operating power and automotive equipment as needed.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, at least 18, and experience in horticulture/grounds maintenance, with a valid driver’s license and pesticide certification or within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED, minimum 18 years old.
• Two years experience in horticultural and/or grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate mechanized maintenance equipment and vehicles.
• Possession of valid driver’s license.
• Pesticide applicators certification, or obtained within eighteen months of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the operating capacity and aesthetic appearance of all parks and open spaces throughout the town.
• Perform maintenance tasks on parks, athletic fields, trails, landscape beds, playgrounds, and public lands.
• Operate power and automotive equipment as required.
• Assist in general grounds maintenance tasks as needed.
