Job summary

Harford County Government seeks a maintenance worker to perform a wide range of groundskeeping and light repair tasks on parks, recreation facilities, and other county property, with work performed under close supervision until skills are developed.

Duties include operating mowers and other equipment, basic carpentry and painting, erecting temporary fencing for events, assisting with landscaping and stormwater projects, and supporting snow cleanup during emergencies; you will interact with the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience in building/ground maintenance or landscaping.
• Valid Class C driver's license with <= 3 points.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, and to stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks and county property, perform semi-skilled carpentry and painting.
• Operate park maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.) and drive trucks as needed.
• Install/remove temporary fencing for events and assist with event setups.
• Assist in landscaping, stormwater projects, and snow removal during emergencies.
• Interact with the public cooperatively and follow safety regulations.
