As the Parks Coordinator I you will assume the trades construction role responsible for all outdoor installations, design, repairs and retrofitting jobs at all Parks & Recreation locations. In this position, you will lead and guide staff working on concrete, fencing, earth work, tree trimming & removal, light welding, driving CDL type vehicles and hauling heavy equipment. All skills mentioned are required to make repairs on any facility located within park property to include plan review, design and overseeing major internal projects. Selected candidate must have a willingness to work in the elements and can expect to be outdoors at least 90% of the time while on duty.The hours for this position will be Mon-Fri, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement Required.Essential Functions:As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Valid AZ driver's license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine the applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. This position requires a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license at the time of application or prior to completion of initial/promotional probation. A valid Arizona commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A, Class B, or Class C with appropriate endorsements is required. For these positions, failure to maintain the required CDL may be grounds for termination. Failure to obtain/maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
