Job Title: Parking Lot Attendant Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt Reports to: Campus Principal Pay Grade: Para 3 Days: 187 Dept./School: Maintenance Date Revised: 08/05/2026

Primary Purpose

Provide for the safety of the students, faculty, and staff and assist in implementing procedures that will ensure the protection of the campus personnel and property.

Qualifications
Education/Certification

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for work to be performed
  • Desire and ability to work with students, parent, faculty, and staff
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime

Major Responsibilities And Duties
  • Check parking permits on cars as they enter parking lot.
  • Monitor parking lot by driving through frequently.
  • Keep lot gates closed.
  • Check spaces daily to assure vehicles are in proper space.
  • Check permits each time a vehicle leaves campus.
  • Assist visitors as they enter the campus.
  • Keep students from loitering in parking lot.
  • Direct traffic in assigned lot.
  • Monitor assigned area as described by daily schedule.
  • Maintains proper condition of parking lot carts.
  • Wears proper parking attendant uniform.
  • Monitors campus on staff development days.
  • Checks permits of students who are out on campus during class time.
  • Reports discipline problems to the grade level principal.
  • Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.
  • Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.
  • Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.
  • Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.
  • Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
  • Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Equipment Used

Ability to use security equipment and drive a golf cart.

Working Conditions
Mental Demands:

Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands:

Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; ability to assist in controlling sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions. Work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
