Job summary

The City of Manchester is seeking a versatile employee to support park and facility operations. The role includes administrative duties, light to moderate labor, and strong customer service to park patrons in indoor and outdoor settings.

Responsibilities cover data recording, safety compliance, guiding new staff, and coordinating with teams to improve efficiency. A minimum age and basic education are required, with opportunities for training and growth within the Parks, Recreation and Cemetery

Qualifications

• Completion of eighth grade and at least 14 years of age.
• Zero to two years of work or volunteer experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative tasks including greeting patrons, completing attendance tally, incident, and accident forms, recording data, enforcing rules, and handing out first aid supplies.
• Performs minor custodial tasks, including mopping bathhouse floors, sweeping, cleaning restrooms, emptying garbage cans, and picking up paper and litter.
• Cleans and maintains work area.
• Monitors aquatic area to ensure safekeeping of patrons’ belongings.
• Provides guidance and demonstrations to new employees in similar positions.
• Keeps supervisors informed of work progress, issues, and potential solutions.
• Attends meetings and training to stay current on relevant practices and developments.
• Responds to citizen inquiries courteously and promptly.
• Coordinates regularly with others to enhance interdepartmental efficiency; and
• Performs additional duties as required by the classification.
