Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is recruiting for a Ranger Trainee at Trough Creek State Park to gain hands-on experience in safety, conservation and public service in a seasonal, full-time role. You will support visitors and help protect natural spaces while learning essential park operations.

Responsibilities include patrol activities, visitor assistance, law enforcement support and emergency response, with a schedule of 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM,

Qualifications

• Six months of experience providing visitor services in a public park, forest, recreation area, or related center.
• 15 college credits in natural or environmental sciences or related field.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Patrol activities to monitor park grounds and support visitor safety.
• Provide guidance and information to park visitors during daily operations.
• Accompany supervisors on patrol and assist in reports and logs.
• Aid in first aid, search efforts, and traffic direction during emergencies.
• Record observations related to facilities, equipment, safety and attendance.
