City and Borough of Juneau is seeking a Full-Time Permanant Park Ranger to join the Parks and Recreation department’s Park Maintenance division. The role is year-round, with duties outdoors in all seasons, including enforcement of park rules, maintenance duties, and public information.
The position requires strong communication, independence, and a commitment to public land stewardship. Working hours are typically 1:00 PM–9:00 PM, with weekends and holidays as needed.

The Parks and Recreation department, Park Maintenance division is looking for a Full-Time Permanant Park Ranger
to join and work year-round with our exciting team of outdoor enthusiasts.
A successful park ranger is curious, observant, physically active and interacts in a professional, calm and patient manner with a variety of park users. Interest in the natural and cultural history of Southeast Alaska and caring about the stewardship of public land are desirable. The ability to work independently and with a variety of coworkers is essential.
The ranger prepares accurate and concise written reports as required. The ranger observes, reports and mitigates hazards in park areas. The Park Ranger participates in training, safety and informational meetings, communicates with the public in a courteous and helpful manner, provides information about rules, regulations, route finding and interpretation of the cultural and natural history of park areas. Most assigned duties are performed outdoors, regardless of weather.

The work schedule is typically 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM, Wednesday- Sunday. Work schedule includes weekends, evenings and holidays. The Parks Maintenance facility is located at 802 Front Street in downtown Douglas.
