Job summary

The Indianapolis Zoo is seeking a Park Operations Technician to support the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the Zoo, including event setup and breakdown, cleaning, storage organization, and equipment maintenance.

We're looking for a dependable, team-oriented individual who enjoys staying active, working with their hands, and tackling a variety of tasks throughout the Zoo, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Experience operating equipment like power washers, leaf blowers, leaf vacuums preferred.
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to work with others.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable outdoors and in various weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move objects up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and breakdown for events, including seasonal Zoo events.
• Clean and vacuum event spaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Organize, stock, and maintain storage areas and supplies.
• Operate and maintain small equipment such as power washers and leaf vacuums.
• Help with building and equipment maintenance and ensure good working order.
• Follow all sanitation and safety standards and use required PPE.
• Communicate with team members via two-way radio/phone.
• Perform other duties to support daily Zoo operations.
