Job summary

Fox Valley Park District is seeking a FT Grounds Maintenance Worker in Aurora, IL. The role involves mowing, trimming, edging, and general park upkeep under supervision.

Lawn equipment operation and the ability to oversee seasonal staff are key aspects of the position. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, a Pesticide Operator license (or ability to obtain within six months), and a valid Illinois driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Experience with mowing, trimming, and landscape maintenance.
• Pesticide Operator license or the ability to obtain within six months.
• Valid Illinois driver's license required.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays and possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing and trimming.
• Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Assist in supervision of seasonal staff and scheduling.
• Spray herbicides and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Remove garbage from trails, parks, and playing fields; snow removal & salting as needed.
• Support other divisions and departments as required.
