Job summary

The Diocese of Winona-Rochester seeks an Internal Audit & Parish Support Associate to assist the Internal Auditor and Parish Support Coordinator in reviewing financial controls across parishes, schools, cemeteries and ministries and to strengthen compliance with accounting rules.

The role focuses on governance, training, budgeting, audit preparation, and coordinating with external auditors. Availability for evenings and 25–50% travel is required.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal, written, analytical and people skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
• 10-key data entry and calculator operation to support bookkeeping, auditing and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist Internal Auditor with regular audits of financial records and internal controls.
• Review adherence to diocesan financial policies and procedures.
• Schedule audit visits and prepare desk reviews for testing.
• Identify risks related to fraud or inefficiency and propose improvements.
