Job summary

Diocese of Austin is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to keep parish buildings and grounds clean, safe, and reverent. You will oversee repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and janitorial tasks, coordinate with contractors, and support church events with volunteers.

The role reports to church leadership and requires a Catholic in good standing, a valid Texas driver’s license, and ability to work weekends or holidays as needed. Strong independent judgment is valued.

Qualifications

• Education and trainings: High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency.
• Must have at least one year of relevant experience.
• Language: English (proficient in speaking, reading, and writing).
• Catholic Requirement: Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Texas driver's license.
• EIM compliance: Must maintain compliance with Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns and maintain landscaping and general grounds.
• Perform routine inspections of parish buildings and systems.
• Carry out minor repairs in plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors for repairs and projects.
• Open/close parish facilities and assist with events.
• Order and inventory janitorial supplies.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness across all church buildings.
• Work with volunteers and staff to support parish activities.
