Job summary

Professional Counseling Center (PCC) seeks a full-time parent partner for the MiFamily Together contract, serving St. Clair and Sanilac Counties. This role leverages lived experience to advocate for referred parents and provide education to support families navigating MDHHS.

The parent partner will meet families at home for 1-hour visits, attend PCC meetings/trainings, and collaborate with a team of MFT staff. Many tasks can be done remotely, with some evenings/weekends expected.

Qualifications

• Past open CPS or foster care case that was successfully closed.
• Ability to share parenting experiences as a learning opportunity for parents and partners.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Meet families in their homes for 1-hour visits to provide education/interventions.
• Attend required PCC meetings and trainings and collaborate with MFT staff.
• Perform remote tasks (paperwork, trainings, some meetings) on a flexible schedule.

Parent Partner Job Posting

PCC is seeking a full-time parent partner for the new MiFamily Together contract, working out of St. Clair and Sanilac Counties. The parent partner is a unique role that provides advocacy and education through lived experience to referred parents involved in MDHHS. PCC is seeking a person with a past open CPS or foster care case that was successfully closed, who is willing to share parenting experiences as a learning opportunity for other parents, community partners, and referring workers.

The parent partner will meet families in their home for 1-hour visits to provide education/interventions, attend required PCC meetings and trainings, and collaborate with a team of other MFT staff. Most tasks outside of home visits can be done remotely on a flexible schedule.

The parent partner must have a GED or diploma, vehicle/license, and ability to provide a flexible schedule, working some evenings and the occasional weekend. Hourly pay rate is $15-18/hr based on experience and education. The parent partner must pass a criminal background check and a Children’s Protective Services background check, and cannot have a felony conviction or be placed on the Central Registry.
