Job description

This position includes some remote work. Starting salary is $40,000 annually.Responsibilities:Maintain strict confidentiality of all families served identities, records, and information inside and outside the agency.Must understand and adhere to policy and procedure for documenting and reporting any suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law.Provide home-based parent education and support services.Partner with the family to assess strengths and needs of the family.Promote parent-child interaction activities and healthy early childhood growth and development.Provide parent education curriculum lessons.Screen and assess families in a timely manner.Organize, implement, and document program outreach activities.Complete all pre-service and in-service training and any additional required continuing education.Administer, score and report child development and maternal health screenings.Assist the family with referrals to appropriate community services.Maintain documentation that summarizes the services provided to enrolled families.Participate in a minimum of 2 hours a month of reflective supervision and 2 hours a month of group supervision.Organize and complete all required paperwork in accordance with the Parents as Teachers affiliation.Provide community service providers that serve potential program families with information about the program.Attend and serve on area coalitions.Assist with and document public awareness activities especially Child Abuse Prevention Month activities.Responsible for completing the required minimum number of agency training hours per year (24 hours/full-time; 12 hours/part-time) in addition to the required training hours as established by the Oklahoma State Department of Health for the Parents As Teachers program.Other duties as required by program needs.Competencies:Understands and applies the agency policies and procedures (i.e. dress code and appearance, adherence to work schedules, completion of trainings, etc.).Punctually attends meetings and trainings. Completes assigned trainings in adequate time frames and obtains the minimum number of training hours required within the calendar year.Demonstrates dependability by consistently working scheduled shifts and following proper procedures when unable to work scheduled shifts.Displays cultural competency by valuing the fundamental rights, dignity, and self-worth of all people including respecting age, culture, disability, ethnicity, race, religion/spirituality, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, socioeconomic status, or any basis proscribed by law.Interacts with others in a professional manner and effectively navigates interpersonal differences. Maintains appropriate boundaries with supervisors, colleagues, and families served.Demonstrates the ability to consult or seek supervision regarding concerns or issues and communicate effectively with colleagues and families served.Understands and applies child development principles.Expresses empathy and care when communicating with families.Focus on child, family, and community involvement in all aspects of the services provided.Identifies potential safety issues and takes measures to reduce risks and protect families served and staff.RequirementsMust be 21 years old.Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, family relations, adult education, or other closely related field. Bilingual encouraged.Demonstrate strong writing, verbal, and organizational skills.Must have a valid driver’s license and telephone.Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.Must pass FBI background investigation.Ability to meet deadlines and have knowledge of computers.Must have good organizational skills and be self-motivated.Ability to communicate with and advocate on behalf of families.Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.Ability to assess situations, identify potential safety issues, and independently initiate safe interventions.Must be able to attend mandatory trainings and monthly staff meetings as scheduled.
