zTrip is seeking compassionate Paratransit Drivers to provide safe, accessible transportation for passengers with mobility needs. You’ll help riders get to appointments, work, school, and community activities with dignity and independence.

About the Role

As a Paratransit Driver, you'll safely transport passengers who require accessible transportation services while providing exceptional care and customer service. Your role goes beyond driving. You'll help passengers maintain their independence by ensuring they have reliable transportation to appointments, work, school, shopping, social activities, and other important destinations.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, value meaningful work, and take pride in providing safe and dependable service.

Key Responsibilities of a Paratransit Driver:
Safe Transportation Services
  • Transport passengers safely and efficiently to scheduled destinations.
  • Follow designated schedules, routes, and operational procedures.
  • Operate company vehicles responsibly and in compliance with all traffic laws.
  • Maintain punctuality and dependability throughout each shift.
  • Ensure passengers experience safe, comfortable, and professional transportation services.
Passenger Assistance
  • Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles when needed.
  • Properly secure wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment.
  • Provide courteous and respectful assistance to riders with varying accessibility needs.
  • Maintain a patient, compassionate, and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, caregivers, dispatch personnel, and team members.
  • Support passenger independence by delivering service with dignity and respect.
Vehicle & Safety Responsibilities
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections before and after assigned shifts.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety issues, or vehicle damage promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle environment.
  • Follow company safety procedures and transportation regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies.
  • Complete required reports, trip documentation, and operational records accurately.
Customer Service Excellence
  • Deliver outstanding service during every interaction.
  • Build trust through reliability, professionalism, and consistency.
  • Address passenger concerns with empathy and problem-solving skills.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all riders.
  • Represent zTrip positively within the community.
Qualifications of a Paratransit Driver:
Required
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background screenings and pre-employment requirements.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Dependable attendance and excellent time management.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Commitment to passenger safety and service excellence.
Preferred
  • Experience in transportation, customer service, caregiving, healthcare support, hospitality, or related fields.
  • Experience assisting individuals with disabilities, mobility limitations, or special transportation needs.
  • Knowledge of wheelchair securement and passenger assistance techniques.
  • Previous professional driving experience.

No paratransit experience is required. Paid training is provided for qualified candidates.
