Job summary

Ben Franklin Transit seeks a paratransit driver to transport elderly and disabled passengers in the Benton and Franklin County area. You will provide door-to-door service, assist passengers, collect fares, and ensure safety and comfort during trips.

Responsibilities include adhering to ADA guidelines, performing pre/post-trip inspections, addressing mechanical issues with dispatch, and maintaining accurate reports and logs. A CDL with endorsements is preferred; a valid WA license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years of driving experience.
• Valid Washington State driver license; CDL preferred with passenger endorsements and air brake restriction removed.

Responsibilities

• Provide paratransit door-to-door or curb-to-curb service for elderly and disabled passengers.
• Collect fares, tickets, and transfers as directed.
• Assist passengers under ADA rules, including securing wheelchairs and mobility aids.
• Provide boarding/alighting assistance and evacuate passengers in emergencies.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT regulations and report issues.
