Job summary

Delta-T Group is seeking paraprofessionals to provide instructional support in Chicago classrooms for students requiring academic intervention. Paraprofessionals should be of good character and assist in classroom programs, with flexible schedules and the opportunity to begin immediately.

As independent contractors, you will refer to several clients in the Chicago area, using specific materials designed by teachers, and collaborate with staff to implement educational objectives and behavior

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in educational settings.
• Ability to assist in evaluating progress and implementing objectives.
• Assist with reading, math, and writing development.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to students in need of intervention services.
• Assist in implementation and follow-through of educational programs.
• Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to evaluate student progress.
• Support physical and behavior management programs as directed.
• Supervise students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Assist students with personal care including lifting, positioning, feeding, bathroom needs, and hygiene.
• Provide assistance with personal care accommodations as required.
• Assist with managing disruptive behavior through approved procedures.
• Support adolescents and students with development of reading, math, and writing skills.

Job Description

Under the supervision of a classroom teacher the paraprofessional will provide instructional assistance to students in need of academic intervention services. Paraprofessionals should be of good personal character and have knowledge of and the ability to assist in a classroom environment. Assist in the implementation and follow through of educational programs developed.If you enjoy working with children while maintaining a flexible work schedule, you should consider becoming a Paraprofessional.

We have several clients located in Chicago, IL that are looking for Paraprofessionals who can begin immediately.

• Providing students in classroom activities using specific materials/methods designed by the special education teacher and support personnel.
• Collaborate with teachers and support personnel for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of students’ progress and/or implementing students’ objectives.
• Assist in the implementation and follow through of physical and behavior management programs.
• Supervise individual students, classroom, library, playground activities providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assist students with self-help skills, including personal care such as lifting/positioning, feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
• Providing assistant with students with personal care accommodations, including nebulizing, catheterizing and suctioning.
• Assist students with physical and behavioral management programs, including monitoring in-school suspension or time-out, removing or restraining students for disruptive behavior.
• Experience working with adolescents and/or in educational settings, ability to assist with development of reading, math, and writing skills, sound judgment.
