Job summary

North Country Supervisory Union Newport City Schools in Newport, Vermont is seeking paraprofessionals for one-on-one and small group support. Positions are 6.5 hours per day and based on experience, with benefits per the support staff collective agreement.

Job Description

ONE ON ONE AND SMALL GROUP PARA-EDUCATORS.

All positions are for 6.5 hours a day. Previous experience preferred. Candidate must meet the district’s requirements of 48 college credits or para-educator certificate and portfolio; or successfully passing the Master Teacher assessment tests.

Specific Position Requirements/Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work effectively within a team environment and a willingness to participate in training opportunities. Having a strong physical stamina, positive energetic attitude and a willingness and experience to work with students is a must. Preferred candidates for the one on one positions would have experience with effective behavior intervention, such as CPI.

Salary & Benefits: Salary will be based on experience and benefits are per the support staff collective agreement. Possible salary range would be between $20.35 and $23.00 an hour.

Criminal Record Background and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry Checks are required.
