Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Hours: 6.5 hours per day (scheduled or on call, as needed). Possible shortened schedule available.
Responsibilities
- Work with individual or small/large groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assist with students with learning and/or physical disabilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students.
- Ability to work independently as well as with others.
- Ability to follow and enforce school policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or higher.
- At least 19 years of age to serve students in grades PK-22.
- While obtaining approval, working toward fulfilling requirements to obtain a license in three years.
License Requirements
Eligibility to receive a paraprofessional endorsement requires:
- At least 19 years of age.
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Meet at least one of the following:
- Holds an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completed at least 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited institution (excluding remedial coursework) with a grade of D or higher.
- Official ETS ParaPro test score of 460 or higher.
- Work Keys test scores: Reading for Information (4), Writing/Business Writing (3), and Applied Mathematics (4).
Application process: Submit an application in the Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) with a $100 fee. Provide high school diploma and transcripts. The license is valid until six years after issuance and may be renewed.
