Overall Purpose
To provide support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific
responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the
regular classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior
during non – classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and
attending IEP meetings.
Essential Functions
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
60 Semester hours of college credit from an accredited educational institution or
a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
Successful experience in job related area preferred.
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.

Maintains all licenses and certifications.
