JOBDETAILS

To assist the teacher achieve teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material of skills.
• Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
• Check notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and makeup work, as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with such large group activities as reading aloud, storytelling, etc.
• Alerts the regular teacher to any program or special information about an individual student. Communicates with classroom teacher about any concerns regarding students.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of the information about students as is expectedof a fully licensed teacher.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Classroom Teacher

Paraprofessionalsstarting salary is $24.89 per hour.

Salarywill beadjusted pending verification of additional college credits.
